“I like to Cha Cha”… I know everyone heard that mega-hit last year by new artist D.R.A.M. If not, you at least heard Drake’s “Hotline Bling” which was clearly inspired by the same. “I like to Cha Cha” was so big because of one thing, D.R.A.M. himself. His energy and over the top happiness on the song transported you into his world. I mean, it just made you want to dance.

But very little of the song’s success had to do with D.R.A.M.’s vocal quality in a traditional sense.

Actually, based off that song you wouldn’t think D.R.A.M. was actually a good singer, but rather someone with a catchy voice. In the same way that T-Pain came out using so much Autotune that no one thought he could sing and then it turned out he’s an amazing singer. Well D.R.A.M. may be the same scenario repeating because after checking out his other music he can definitely sing.

DRAM and SZA

To sum it up, I offer you “$” by D.R.A.M. ft. Donnie Trumpet

Just for good measure “Caretaker” by D.R.A.M. ft. SZA
