It took me a while to do this one because I wanted to let the album sink in, but after weeks of listening, there isn’t too much more you can say about Chris Brown.
If I had to sum “Royalty” up in 2 words, I’d probably use “F***ing Awesome”.
But that’s only if I had to. [lol]
He draws you in from the intro with a super mellow/mid tempo instrumental accompanied by slightly more upbeat vocals and a dope and catchy hook on “Back to Sleep”. Then he raises the tone with “Fine by Me” where he exhibits his pop side and follows that by bringing you back to streets with “Wrist” feat Solo Lucci.
Throughout the whole album he displays his versatility and brings his audience on a roller coaster ride through different sounds and emotions.
Album cover was simple but powerful. A plain picture of Chris holding his daughter Royalty Brown as they pose in front of white backdrop, symbolizing that “his daughter is all he lives for”.
Though most of the album was only Chris, he did let a few people in on this one.
List goes as follows; Solo Lucci, Tayla Parx, and Future.
It’s always difficult finding favorites when albums are this dope, but my top 3 would have to be “Back to Sleep”, “Wrist”, and “U Did It”.
